West Valley Animal Shelter
During summer of 2015 I did an internship with the West Valley Animal Shelter. It was a great experience and really made me think what I wanted to do as a career. You can basically say it made me think about my future plans. I usually worked there for about 2-3 hours and sometimes I would do 5 hours.

What I Did
|
In the animal shelter I would put on a blue uniform to inform people that I was a volunteer. I would clean the cats cages and put food and water in there. I would clean the cats room. The cats room was difficult because I am allergic to cats. I would feed the dogs and clean their poop and pee. I learned that I can deal with their poop.

My Plans After
|
After doing my internship hours at the animal shelter it made me think of what I want to get into. They even got me a job offer when I turn 18.
I thought about making a business of animal shelters in Utah. I don't want just an ordinary shelter though, I want my shelter to be unique. I do not like the idea putting dogs in cages the whole day. I want them to be roaming around fields. The job I want to get into is either a veterinary technician or work for an animal rehabilitation center and make a business out of it. |
