Critical Thinking

In this project, we had to create a calculator by using Notes and CV+ programs. This took a lot of critical thiniking because there's a lot of details in what goes on in coding computers. This projects was quite difficult because it was a whole different language to me. We had to make math problems like 2 * 9, and if we didn't get it to make it have the correct answer we'd have to go back and check what went wrong and fix it.

This essay was different from all the other essays we have done because we had to decide, in our own opinion, if "under God" should be in the pledge of allegiance. I said yes, that "Under God" should be on the Pledge of Allegiance, but in our essay we had to go with the opposite of what we said. This was a different and difficult task, but it helped me a lot to see another person's point of view and this is what this essay is mostly about. This helps you think critically because you never really see the other sides point of view. We usually just stick with our opinion and that is it. You have to do research and think why that person thinks the opposite of your opinion. By the end of this essay my opinion changed. I think "Under God" should not be on the Pledge of Allegiance.

This year I took Zoology. At the end of the term we had to take a test. We needed to match which animals go to which phylum class. This goes into critical thinking because we needed to observe the animals inside the jar and match the phylum names. There were 7 phylum names and we also needed to write three of their characteristics. For example if I was to observe a jellyfish I would say that it's characteristic is radial symmetry and name 2 other characteristics.
